Assign training to members
Once you have created modules and programs, you can assign them to the people who need to complete them. This guide covers the assignment wizard step by step.
Open the Assignments Page
- In the top navigation, open the Admin section.
- Click Training Assignments.
You will see a list of existing assignments with details like content name, recipient, due date, status, and whether the assignment is required.
Create a New Assignment
- Click the New Assignment button.
- A three-step wizard opens.
Step 1: Select Content
Choose what you are assigning:
- Module -- assign a single training module. Select it from the dropdown list.
- Program -- assign an entire training program (which includes all its modules). Select it from the dropdown list.
Click Next when you have made your selection.
Step 2: Choose Recipients
Decide who should receive this assignment:
- Entire Organization -- every current member of your organization will be assigned. This is useful for organization-wide compliance training.
- Specific User -- enter the user's ID to assign training to one person. This is useful for targeted remediation or onboarding a new member.
Click Next.
Organization-wide assignments automatically include all current members. New members who join after the assignment is created may need to be assigned separately.
Step 3: Set Details
Configure the assignment options:
- Due Date (optional) -- set a deadline. If you leave this blank, there is no deadline and the training can be completed at any time.
- Required -- check this box if the training is mandatory. Required assignments show up as compliance requirements.
Review the summary at the bottom:
- Content: the module or program you selected.
- Recipients: "Entire organization" or the specific user.
- Due date: the deadline you set, or "No deadline."
- Required: Yes or No.
Click Create Assignment to finalize.
What Happens After You Assign
- Assigned users see the training in their compliance dashboard.
- If your organization has email notifications enabled, assigned users receive an email letting them know about the new training.
- If you set a due date, the system tracks whether the training was completed on time.
Set due dates generously for new programs. Give people at least a week to complete video-based training, especially if they are volunteers with day jobs.
View Existing Assignments
The Assignments page table shows:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Content | The module or program name. |
| Assigned To | "Organization" or a specific user. |
| Due Date | The deadline, if any. |
| Required | Whether the assignment is mandatory. |
| Created | When the assignment was made. |
Editing or Removing Assignments
You can update the due date or required status of an existing assignment. If you need to revoke an assignment entirely, archive the underlying module or program to prevent further completions.
