Create training modules and content

Admin

Training modules are the building blocks of your compliance training. Each module contains a video (uploaded or linked) and an optional quiz or attestation. This guide walks you through creating, editing, and managing modules.

Open the Training Modules Page

  1. In the top navigation, open the Admin section.
  2. Click Training Modules (you may need to scroll the admin menu).

You will see a table listing all your modules with columns for Title, Status, Duration, Questions, Completions, and Actions.

Filter by Status

Use the tabs above the table to switch between views:

  • Active -- modules that can be assigned to users.
  • Archived -- modules that are no longer assignable.
  • All -- every module regardless of status.

Create a New Module

  1. Click the New Module button in the upper right.
  2. You are taken to the module editor, which has three tabs: Video, Assessment, and Settings.

Video Tab

Choose how to provide the training video:

  • Upload Video -- drag and drop a video file or click to browse. Supported formats include MP4 and other common video types.
  • External URL -- paste a YouTube or Vimeo link. A preview of the video appears automatically once you enter a valid URL.
tip

External URLs are the fastest option if your training videos are already on YouTube or Vimeo. StandShare will embed them directly.

Assessment Tab

You have two assessment modes:

  • Quiz -- add one or more questions that learners must answer correctly.
  • Attestation -- learners simply confirm they watched and understood the material (no graded questions).

Adding Quiz Questions

  1. Click Add Question.
  2. Choose the question type: Multiple Choice, True/False, or Matching.
  3. Type the question prompt.
  4. Add answer options. Mark which option(s) are correct.
  5. Repeat for additional questions.
note

You can reorder, edit, or delete questions at any time before or after publishing.

Setting a Passing Score

In the Settings tab, you can configure the minimum percentage a learner needs to pass the quiz. For example, setting it to 80% means a learner must answer at least 80% of questions correctly.

Settings Tab

  • Title -- the display name learners will see.
  • Description -- an optional summary of what the module covers.
  • Passing score -- minimum quiz percentage to pass (if using quiz mode).
  • Active / Archived toggle -- controls whether the module is available for assignment.

Save and Publish

Click Save to store your changes. Once saved, the module is immediately available if its status is set to Active. Learners who are assigned this module will see it in their training list.

Edit an Existing Module

  1. From the Training Modules list, click the module title or the Edit link.
  2. Make your changes across any of the three tabs.
  3. Click Save.
info

Editing a module that has already been completed by some learners does not affect their completion records. Only future attempts use the updated content.

Archive a Module

If you no longer need a module to be assignable:

  1. Click the Archive link next to the module in the table.
  2. Confirm the action.

Archived modules are no longer available for new assignments, but existing completion records are preserved.

Restore an Archived Module

  1. Switch to the Archived tab.
  2. Click Restore next to the module you want to bring back.

The module returns to Active status and can be assigned again.
