Manage your email preferences

All Roles

StandShare sends emails for account updates, event reminders, announcements, and more. You can control which categories of email you receive and manage your preferences from the Settings page.

Email Categories

StandShare groups emails into five categories:

System notifications and critical account alerts (such as security warnings) cannot be disabled. These are always delivered to keep your account safe.

Change Your Email Preferences

  1. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Click the Notifications tab in the left sidebar.
  4. Under Email Preferences, you will see a toggle for each email category.
  5. Turn categories on or off as you prefer.
  6. Click Save Email Preferences.
  7. A green confirmation banner appears when your changes are saved.

Your preferences take effect immediately. You will stop receiving emails for any category you turned off.

Notification Settings

In addition to email preferences, the Notifications tab includes general notification toggles:

Click Save Notification Preferences after making changes.

Unsubscribe from an Email

Every StandShare email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it takes you to a confirmation page:

  1. The page shows which email category you are about to unsubscribe from (for example, "Event Reminders").
  2. A note reminds you that you can re-enable these emails anytime in Settings.
  3. Click Confirm Unsubscribe.
  4. A success message confirms you have been unsubscribed.

From the confirmation page, you can click Manage Email Preferences to go to Settings and adjust other categories, or click Go to Dashboard to return to your home page.

Re-Enable Emails You Unsubscribed From

If you change your mind after unsubscribing:

  1. Go to Settings and click the Notifications tab.
  2. Find the category you unsubscribed from.
  3. Turn the toggle back on.
  4. Click Save Email Preferences.

In-App Messages

Some notifications also appear inside StandShare:

  • Feature upgrade prompts -- If you try to access a feature that requires a higher subscription tier, a toast notification appears explaining the limitation.
  • Session expiration -- If your login session expires, a message prompts you to sign in again.
  • Success and error messages -- Actions like saving settings, submitting forms, or completing transactions show brief confirmation or error messages at the top of the page.

These in-app messages are not affected by your email preference settings.


Tips

  • The Marketing category is turned off by default. You only receive marketing emails if you opt in.
  • If you are not receiving expected emails, check your spam or junk folder first, then verify your preferences in Settings.
  • Unsubscribing from a category through an email link has the same effect as turning it off in Settings.
