Choose which notifications you receive

All Roles

StandShare sends you notifications for important account activity such as scholarship updates, document reminders, event assignments, and balance changes. This guide explains how to view your notifications and configure your preferences.

View your notifications

  1. Log in to StandShare.
  2. Click the bell icon in the top navigation bar. A badge on the bell shows the number of unread notifications.
  3. The Notifications page displays all your notifications with the following information for each:
    • Title and message describing the notification.
    • Priority badge -- color-coded as urgent (red), high (orange), normal (blue), or low (gray).
    • Timestamp showing when the notification was sent.
    • Action link (if applicable) that takes you directly to the relevant page.

Filter notifications

At the top of the Notifications page, you will see summary counts for Total and Unread notifications. Use the filter tabs to switch between views:

  • All Notifications -- Shows everything, both read and unread.
  • Unread -- Shows only notifications you have not yet read. The count of unread items is displayed in the tab label.

Mark notifications as read

You can mark notifications as read in several ways:

  • Individual notification: Click the Mark read button on any unread notification.
  • Via action link: Clicking an action link on an unread notification automatically marks it as read.
  • All at once: Click the Mark all read button at the top of the page to mark every unread notification as read.

Delete and clear notifications

  • Delete a single notification: Click the Delete button on any notification to remove it permanently.
  • Clear all read notifications: Click the Clear read button at the top of the page to remove all notifications that have already been marked as read.

Configure notification preferences

You can control which types of notifications you receive:

  1. Open your avatar menu in the top-right and click Profile, then open the Notifications tab. You can also reach this from Notification Preferences in Account Settings.
  2. Toggle each notification category on or off:
    • Email Notifications -- General email delivery for all notification types.
    • Scholarship Updates -- Notifications when your scholarship requests are approved, denied, or paid.
    • Document Reminders -- Alerts when documents are due or require your attention.
    • Event Assignments -- Updates about your concession stand event assignments.
    • Monthly Statements -- A periodic summary of your account activity.
  3. Click Save Preferences to apply your changes.
tip

Even if you turn off email notifications for a category, you will still see in-app notifications on the Notifications page. Email preferences only control whether a separate email is sent to your inbox.

Turn on browser push notifications

Browser push lets your computer or phone show a system notification when something important happens — even when the StandShare tab is closed or in the background. Push is in addition to in-app notifications and email; it never replaces them.

  1. On the Notifications tab of your profile, find the Push Notifications toggle.
  2. Click Enable push notifications.
  3. Your browser prompts you for permission. Click Allow.
  4. StandShare registers your device with the notification service. The toggle flips to Enabled.

What you will see

  • Tab in the background or browser closed -- the operating system shows a push banner. Click it to open StandShare to the relevant page.
  • Tab focused -- no OS banner. The in-app toast and notification bell still update in real time, so you do not get a duplicate.

Disable push on a device

Toggle Push Notifications off on the Notifications tab. You can re-enable any time. Signing out also deactivates push on that device.

info

Browser push is supported on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and Android. iOS Safari push is not supported yet — use email notifications on iPhone for now.

warning

If you previously blocked notifications in your browser, the Enable click will not trigger a prompt. Update your browser's site settings for StandShare to allow notifications, then re-enable the toggle.
