Check in with your QR code at events

All Roles

Your QR credential is a unique code on your phone that identifies you when you arrive at a concession stand event. A coordinator scans it to check you in, so the organization knows you showed up and can credit your family account.

Before the Event

Make sure you can access StandShare on your phone before you leave the house:

  1. Open StandShare in your phone's web browser and sign in to your account.
  2. Check your upcoming events on the dashboard. You should see the event you are scheduled to work listed there.
  3. Confirm your compliance status. When you open your credential, the screen will show whether your identity verification and any required certifications are up to date. If you see a warning about incomplete compliance, contact your coordinator before event day so you can resolve it in time.
tip

Bookmark StandShare in your phone's browser or add it to your home screen so you can find it quickly on event day.

Displaying Your QR Code

When you are ready to check in at the event:

  1. Open StandShare on your phone and sign in if needed.
  2. Navigate to the event you are working. You can find it on your dashboard or in your upcoming events list.
  3. Tap on the event to open your credential screen. You will see your name and compliance status at the top of the page.
  4. Below that, you will be asked to verify your identity using your phone's fingerprint sensor or face recognition. Tap the "Tap to unlock QR" button and follow the prompt on your device.
  5. Once verified, a large QR code will appear on your screen. This is your check-in credential.

The QR code refreshes automatically every 30 seconds for security. You will see a countdown timer below the code showing when the next refresh happens. You do not need to do anything -- just keep the screen open.

At the Check-In Point

Here is what happens when you arrive at the event:

  1. Find the check-in coordinator. They will have a phone or tablet with the StandShare scanner open.
  2. Hold your phone steady with the QR code visible on screen. The coordinator will point their camera at your code.
  3. Wait for confirmation. The scanner will read your code and register your arrival. The coordinator's dashboard will update to show you as checked in.
  4. Head to your assigned stand. You are all set to start your shift.

If you arrive after the scheduled start time, your check-in may be flagged as a late arrival. This does not prevent you from working -- it is just recorded for the coordinator's reference.

Troubleshooting

The QR code will not load:

  • Make sure you have an internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
  • Try tapping the "Try again" button on the error screen.
  • Close the browser tab and reopen StandShare from scratch.

The biometric unlock is not working:

  • Make sure your phone supports fingerprint or face recognition and that it is set up in your phone's settings.
  • If your device does not support biometric authentication, you will see a message letting you know. Contact your coordinator -- they may be able to check you in manually.

The screen is too dim for the scanner to read:

  • Turn your phone's screen brightness all the way up before showing your QR code.
  • Move to a shaded area if you are outside in bright sunlight -- glare on the screen can make scanning difficult.

The scanner is not working on the coordinator's end:

  • Be patient -- the coordinator may need to restart their scanner.
  • If it still will not work, the coordinator can record your check-in manually.
tip

Turn your screen brightness to maximum before you get in line. This makes it much easier for the scanner to read your QR code, especially outdoors.
