Use the event message board

Family Coordinator Admin

Every event has its own message board on the Event Detail page. Use it to share logistics — gate location, parking, stand swaps, attire — without texting the whole family list or spamming the org announcement feed.

Open the Message Board

  1. Sign in to StandShare.
  2. Open Events from the top navigation.
  3. Click the event you need to chat about to open its Event Detail page.
  4. Scroll to the Messages section.

Messages load oldest-visible at the top with the most recent at the bottom. If the conversation is long, scroll up to load earlier messages.

Post a Message

  1. Type in the Write a message box at the bottom of the board.
  2. Click Send (or press Enter on desktop).
  3. Your message appears instantly with your name and a timestamp.

Messages show up for anyone with access to the event in real time — no refresh required. If you post from your phone while the family lead is watching on a laptop, they see it immediately.

tip

Keep messages event-specific. For broader org announcements, ask an admin to post on the announcements page so everyone sees it.

Cross-Org Collaboration Events

On cross-org collaboration events, the message board is shared across participating orgs. Workers assigned from a partner org see and post to the same board as the host org — use it to coordinate gate meetups, stand roles, or any last-minute swaps without switching tools.

Messages on collaboration events are visible only to people assigned or invited to that specific event. They do not leak to other events in either org.

Who Can Post

Everyone with access to the event — confirmed workers, family leads for those workers, coordinators, admins, and invited partner-org workers — can read and post. Guest Workers see the same board when they are signed up.

If you cannot see the message board, your account may not be assigned or invited to the event yet. Check your registration status on the Event Detail page.

Notifications

  • Messages do not email you. For real-time alerts, enable browser push notifications.
  • The notification bell still shows unread counts for important account events (scholarships, assignments) — message board activity does not clutter it.

Troubleshooting

I typed a message but nothing appeared — the send may have failed. Wait a second, then try again. Persistent failures usually indicate a network issue.

I see duplicate messages — the board deduplicates optimistic sends against server echoes. If duplicates persist, reload the page.

Scroll position keeps jumping — new messages add at the bottom. Scroll yourself to the bottom to follow the live feed, or scroll up to browse history without being pulled back.

I cannot find an older message — scroll up to load older pages of history. If the conversation is very long, use the browser's find-in-page to search.
