Control how your venues appear in search
Venue discovery allows operator organizations to find and connect with your organization on the StandShare platform. When discovery is enabled, your organization's profile appears in the venue discovery directory, making it visible to operators looking for concession stand teams.
Prerequisites
- You must have the Admin role or a role with discovery management permissions.
Accessing discovery settings
Navigate to Settings and then Discovery Settings from the admin navigation. The page has three sections: opt-in toggle, profile editor, and received invites.
Opting in or out of discovery
At the top of the page, a toggle controls whether your organization is discoverable:
- Discoverable (on): Your organization appears in the venue discovery directory. Operators can view your profile and send connection invites.
- Not discoverable (off): Your organization is hidden from the directory. Existing connections are not affected, but no new operators can find you.
Click the toggle to switch. A confirmation message appears when the change is saved.
Editing your discovery profile
The profile section controls what information operators see when they find your organization:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Description | A short summary of your organization (who you are, what you do) |
| Service area city | The city where your organization primarily operates |
| Service area region | The state, province, or region |
| Organization type | A label describing your organization type (e.g., "Booster Club", "Youth League") |
| Show org size | Toggle to display your organization's size (number of families) |
| Show event history | Toggle to display a summary of your event participation history |
| Show compliance status | Toggle to display your organization's compliance standing |
After editing, click Save Profile to apply changes. These changes take effect immediately in the discovery directory.
Managing received invites
When an operator sends your organization a connection invite, it appears in the Received Invites section at the bottom of the page.
Each invite shows:
- The operator organization's name
- The invite status: Pending, Accepted, or Declined
- Action buttons for pending invites
Responding to an invite
- Review the invite details.
- Click Accept to establish a connection with the operator, or Decline to reject it.
- A confirmation message appears.
Accepted invites create a connection between your organization and the operator, enabling collaboration on events at their venues.
Tips for an effective discovery profile
- Write a clear description. Operators are looking for reliable teams. Mention your experience, team size, and any specialties.
- Keep your service area accurate. This helps operators in your area find you.
- Enable event history if you have a strong track record -- it builds credibility.
- Enable compliance status if your organization maintains high compliance -- it signals reliability.
